Even though healthy living, exercise, and sleep plays vital roles in the status of your health, we will also learn about other contributors that effect our health and the way we live.
SLEEPING
When it comes to sleep, we all have to do it. If our body couldn't sleep, we would die. Our body uses sleep to rest all our organs, nerves, and other body parts. When we sleep, our metabolism slows down, our heart slows down, and our body shuts down to rest. Our bodies need sleep to reboot our system per say. Everything in our body is living and all living things must have sleep in order to survive. Our bodies need proper sleep to fully function correct, which is something hard to do at this age and time in the world. It has become a fast paced world and many of us our lucky to get 6 hour sleep, 2 hours less then the beginning average of 8 hours of sleep a night. It may not sound like much, but it can quickly add up
Yes, it is recommened that we get between 8-10 hours of sleep per day. Many of us are lucky to get to that amount. As we get older, we tend to sleep less and less. On average, most of us get between 5 and 6 hours of sleep on any given night. When we don't get proper sleep, our bodies react in certain ways. You will begin to experience watery eyes, yawning, and body aches. In addition, you will feel sluggish, experience headaches, and feel like you have no energy. This is your body telling you that it needs sleep.
Lack of sleep can also lead to health issues, such as anxiety and depression. It can also increase your chances for diabetes. There are many ways to apply to your life to make sleeping easier to do. You want to make sure your room is dark, with little or no light avaiable. Try not to think about stressful situations, such as a doctor visit or late bills. You should try to relax at all cost. Try to set a schedule so your natural body timing will know that it is time to sleep. Lastly, make sure your bed and bedroom is comfortable. This is where you sleep and you want it to be relaxing and comfortable. Lastly, make sure you get enough sleep.
EXERCISE
Just like sleep, exercise is very important to a healthy living style of life. Exercise burns bad calories out of our body , it builds muscle, and gives the body energy. Proper exercise is crucial to our bodies performance. There are many different types of exercise, from weight lifting to running and hiking to push-ups.
Exercise is a crucial part to a healthy lifestyle. Exercise is vital to increase your overall strength, heal certain body parts, and stay healthy. You want to be in the best condition you can, especially when you are older. Exercise is what burns the bad calories and other components in your body such as fat. Exercise burns fat all over the body.
Exercise can also decrease the chances for certain decreases, such as heart disease. When used hand in hand with eating healthy habits, exercise can make you an overall healthy person. When you exercise, you burn fat. Bad toxins then enter the bloodstream and they will be released through sweat. It also can get read of dangerous cells such as cancer and other bad cells and diseases. Exercise also decreases your chances of getting type 2 diabetes because during exercise, the body releases natural insulin to the body.
Exercises such as swimming and running can help prevent cardiovascular disease. Exercise can also decrease your chances of depression, stress, sleep apnea, obesity, and high blood pressure. Nearly 20 percent of children are obese in the world. With all the new technological advancements in gaming and computers, children are more likely to not exercise. They continuously eat fast foot and they have the high risk of being obese before the age of 18. Not only is it important for adults to exercise, it is also important to teach our children about exercise.
There are many ways to exercise, such as walking, jogging, or running. Playing sports is a popular way to exercise. You can play football, basketball, tennis, baseball, hockey, and golf. Extreme sports can be a good way to exercise. Lifting weights is the best way to exercise your arms, stomach, legs, and other body parts. It is always important to stretch before you exercise to decrease your chances of tearing a muscle or straining a muscle.
Exercise is very important in your life, for both children and adults. Exercising can become difficult the older you get. If you can, you need to start right away so when you are older, it won't be as hard. Exercising makes you a healthier person overall. It will boost your basal-metabolic rate, which is the number of calories that are needed to stay alive.
EATING HEALTHY
The hardest part of the 3 keys is probably eating healthy. We want to eat what we want when we want. Many of us pay no attention to the harmful items that we are putting in are body, such as salts, grease, and butter. It is not that hard at all to begin eating healthy. Sticking with your new healthy eating habits is the hardest part. Many people immediately quit eating junk food and they end up failing. You want to begin slow when you start changing your eating habits. This is where many people mess up. Begin by adding fruits, vegetables, and salads with your overall meals. Try to begin watching your portions. Many people eat healthy, but they eat to many portions of one item and that is not healthy.
Eating healthy is a very important step to a healthy lifestyle. When it comes to eating healthy, you have to eat smart. You don't have to follow strict diet plans or starve yourself. That is unhealthy. You don't even have to quit eating the foods you enjoy. Start by watching your portions and adding healthy foods. Don't rush and ease into the Situation. After you have allowed some time to pass, then begin adding more healthy foods to your diet. If you happen to slip and eat some chocolate mousse, make sure you add a few minutes of exercise. It is ok to eat sweet, but not everyday. Try to limit your junk food to once a week. Make sure you don't eat before you go to bed either. If you do, the food will stick to you. As you read above, your metabolism slows down when you are asleep. This is why many people can't loose weight. They eat a lot of junk right before they go to bed.
Eating healthy is very beneficial and important as well. Eating healthy decreases your chances for diabetes, cancers, and heart disease. There are many benefits also. Eating healthy actually makes you smarter. It increases your memory. It can also give you extra energy and it has been proven that it puts you in a better mood. You also need to drink water. Try drinking less soda and replace it with water. Water cleans your body out and removes toxins and bad waste. Many people don't even know that they could be dehydration from not drinking water. This can cause headaches, very low energy, and exhaustion.
Start bringing in healthy foods to your new diet. Fish and salmon are good for you. Apples, oatmeal, beans, blueberries, and yogurt are all good for you. You can research yourself online and find out what is healthy for you and apply it to your eating habits. It can be done and it can save your life. Eating healthy is very important.
MANAGING STRESS
How many of us have been stressed out? Yes, we all have. Stress can lead to serious complications such as a heart attack or depression. It is very important to know how to manage your stress levels when they rise. I wanted to give you some tips on how to control them.
- DON'T STRESS ABOUT WHAT CAN'T BE CHANGED- If you think about this, it covers many things. Look, if you are stressing about a situation that can't be changed, it serves no purpose. For example, your phone is getting cut off and you have no way to pay for it. Even though stress will be felt, what can you do about it? If you have tried everything that you can and it still is getting cut off, forget about it. We can't change the unchangeable. Point blank. Quit stressing out on what we can't change. It is what it is. Stress can cause chest pains, strokes, depressions, and many other things. If we can't do anything about the situation, quit stressing. It is unhealthy. It may be hard if it concerns something like a death, but it doesn't do any good to stress yourself. What is will be.
- COOLING DOWN- Maybe you have been in an argument of some type. Your best weapon is walking away and cooling off. Your brain reacts for only a few seconds to anger. The rest of the time it is caused by yourself. We all say things that we don't mean. It could be that situation this time. Walk away and cool off.
- WALKING- If you are stressed out, go for a walk. I walk and talk to God. You can always go and talk to him. The main point is to gather your composure and begin thinking clearly again. When we are stressed, we don't think clearly. Go enjoy nature and walk to get your mind off whatever is making your stressed out.
- TALKING TO SOMEONE- You may want to talk to someone about why you are dealing with stress. It does help to release are problems and have someone listen to us, even if it is only to vent. Being able to release this from our mind can be self soothing. It is always good to do this with a best friend or someone that understands what we are going through.
- LETTING GO- How many times have we put stress upon our self by not letting go or not controlling a certain situation? We all hold grudges, memories, and pain within ourselves. We have to learn how to let these things go. We all have stress and we probably always will. But if we can learn how to adapt to it and control it from effecting us, we will become healthier for it. You have to find your own special way of dealing with stress. We all are different and stress effects us all differently. Learn what works for you and apply it.

A good informative and useful Hub. I credit my little dog, Baby for helping me to relieve stress and to get exercise. This is good advice. I voted you UP.
Lover Man and I WALK all the time, just about every day as well as an Evening Stroll. You've made a lot of good Points with this Hub on Managing Stress, which is in all our daily lives...And of course eating the right foods and getting sleep is so important. Good Hub, it's got my VOTE!
A great hub with plenty of information and good advice to stay healthy. Some great advice on minimising stress as well which is a must in todays busy lifestyles.
I am one of those people who need 8 hours or more of sleep. Otherwise I get terrible headaches.
Gets my vote too
Thanks for the great ideas. I have to get more sleep. With everything on my mind lately sometimes I drift off at about 12 and I'm up already at 4. Excersize well I'm working on that. The one good thing is that I live in the suburbs far from the temptation of fast food.

Great hub. I so agree with everything you've said here, and love the way you put it all together and explained how many diseases can be prevented or at least forstalled by following the lifestyle you put forth in this hub.
My favorite stress buster is walking, preferably at the beach or in a beautiful park. Like you, that is where I go to pray and talk to God.
Voted up across the board except for funny.
If you do have trouble with stress cutting caffeine and replacing it with a big mug of ice cold water to calm a nervous stomach...keeping a journal or other types of writing can be calming, reading and listening to music you find inspirational...if all else fail,go snog(kiss) your girlfriend, lol.;)
Great info, well presented! Voted up and useful! :)
Great advice; most individuals can benefit from slowing down and following the three basics you point out. My favorite thing I learned from this is that eating healthy makes you smarter. All those salads and carrots are bound to taste a little better if I just keep that in mind! Thank for sharing your insightful ideas. I voted this up and shared the link with my stressed out friends.
Hello, thelyricwriter,
Thank you very much for writing and publishing this useful, awesome and interesting hub. Although I take real good care of myself and work very hard to stay abreast of ways to have and maintain good health, this post was very educational for me. I learned a few things and was reminded of a few others.
Once again, thank you.
Excellent suggestions and tips on living healthy and on handling our stress.
The one I have to work on is sleep. I usually get about 6 hours sleep.
I walk to work most days so I get my exercise.
I lost weight by adding a couple of healthy snacks to my diet instead of eating a little then going a long time without eating and pigging out at dinner. I do not eat after 7 p.m. By eating this way I have been able to maintain my weight.
Have a great day.
I like the eating part, dislike the exercise part, and the sleep part seems to be somewhat elusive, especially since I joined hub pages! This hub had alot of good information. I wish I got more sleep.
Wow! A great, useful and informative piece. The three points outlined says it all. Health is wealth. Voted awesome, beautiful and useful. Cheers
Hi TLW, very useful and interesting hub, I love walking and enjoy fruit and most definitely need 8 hours sleep, otherwise I just don't function at all!
